Varatt Vichit-Vadakan opened the first Roast at SeenSpace Thonglor in April 2011, three years after running a 16-seat Ohana Cafe. Executive chef Johnny Liu runs the kitchen alongside coffee from sister brand Roots, roasted in-house with single origins on the filter menu.
Varatt and sister Vicharee co-founded The Commons Thonglor, where Roast anchors the top floor. A portion of revenue goes to Thai coffee farmers in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
